Eaton Recognized by CIO Magazine as a 2015 CIO 100 Award Winner

Date: 2015/6/23

CLEVELAND ... Power management company Eaton today announced the company has been named a recipient of the 2015 CIO 100 Award by CIO Magazine. The 28th annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).

Eaton was recognized for its innovative IT integration as part of its overall strategy following the acquisition of Cooper Industries. The company implemented new technologies, including MyEaton, a customer-facing portal to migrate new and existing customer bases to a single interface while providing an enhanced customer experience. As a result, 16,000 former Cooper employees with network devices were able to securely access Eaton’s Intranet and core systems on the day the acquisition closed.

“We are very proud to be a repeat winner of the CIO 100 Award,” said Bill Blausey, Eaton senior vice president and chief information officer. “It’s an honor to be recognized for the work of our integration team following the largest acquisition in Eaton’s history. The technology employed allowed us to continue normal operations without interruption and has continued to improve our operations, enhance the customer experience and reduce operating expenses.”

"For 28 years now, the CIO 100 awards have honored the innovative use of technology to deliver genuine business value," said Maryfran Johnson, Editor in Chief of CIO magazine & events. "Our 2015 winners are an outstanding example of the transformative power of IT to drive everything from revenue growth to competitive advantage."

The awards ceremony will take place at The CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony, which will be held at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., August 9-11, 2015. The ceremony will be held on the evening of Aug. 11th as part of a black-tie gala reception and dinner program.

Recipients of this year's CIO 100 Award were selected through a three-step process. First, companies filled out an online application form detailing their innovative IT and business initiatives. Next, a team of external judges (many of them former CIOs) reviewed the applications in depth, looking for leading-edge IT practices and measurable results. Finally, CIO editors reviewed the judges' recommendations and selected the final 100. Coverage of the 2015 CIO 100 Awards will be available online at CIO.com on August 1, 2015 and in the August issue of CIO magazine.
