Eaton held Oil & Gas Technology Day in Beijing

Date: 2015/10/20

BEIJING… Power management company Eaton showcased its latest innovations at its Oil and Gas Mobile Tech Day held in Beijing today. With the theme of “De-risk by Design”,  it is the second stop for this Mobile Tech Day, a serial truck road show focusing on Eaton’s solutions integrating electrical, hydraulic and filtration technologies for oil and gas operations. The event was attended by more than 100 customers, partners and industry experts where they explored the latest trends, shared successful cases and discussed solutions to challenges.

"China's oil and gas enterprises are facing the challenges of harsher and longer-distance drilling and production environments, which will undoubtedly lead to an increase in operational costs, endanger worker safety and potentially affect corporate reputation,” said Joe-Tao Zhou, president of Eaton China. “Given the features of China's oil and gas industry, we have developed the core concept of ‘De-risk by Design’. With this concept, we will provide customized solutions and aftermarket supporting services to customers to help them optimize equipment performance and effectively reduce risks, achieving maximum investment return.”

The event presented a variety of innovative products and technologies for the oil and gas industry. Providing reliability, stability and safety, these products can be applied in both upstream and downstream industrial sectors, and help customers effectively address the challenges of harsh operating environments, reduce equipment failure rates and improve productivity, make equipment operation and maintenance easier and predicable, and ultimately help enterprises meet production demand and increasingly rigorous legal requirements.

The key products Eaton presented at the event were on hydraulic fluid conveyance and management systems, including:

  • Hyde-MAC™ motor, a new low-speed large-torque direct-driven radial piston motor which works efficiently and stably in different conditions, has high processing and assembly precision, and has smaller probability of leakage.
  • Heave compensation cylinder, which uses Eaton's unique Eatonite™ ABC laser coating technology to make the cylinder safer and more reliable through rigorous anti-corrosion salt spray tests.
  • Airflex® brake series, which was designed to rapidly absorb and carry away tremendous heat produced in large-inertia and constant-tension applications, is easy to install and maintain, and has superior performance.
  • Eaton Vickers® explosion-proof electromagnetic valve, which was designed and developed for various applications in potential flammable and explosive environment, and has passed over 10 million life tests to ensure longer useful life and durability.

A series of industrial technology seminars were also conducted by Eaton’s executives and technical engineers to provide insights into some of the specific challenges that Eaton's customers have faced and the examples of how Eaton has helped solve them.

This Mobile Tech Day will then travel across another six cities including Jinan, Hefei, Nanjing, Dongying, Nantong and Shanghai, where Eaton will engage more customers and industry practitioners to address key topics in the oil and gas industry.
