Eaton's BECO INTEGRA LAB 220 S filter was developed especially for processing small quantities in laboratories and in technical colleges as well as for the production of small batches and for up-scaling in the beverage, food, bioengineering, pharmaceuticals, chemical and cosmetic industries.
The special design of Eaton's BECO INTEGRA LAB 220 S filter makes it possible to directly transfer the results of laboratory and technical college testing to process equipment such as the BECO INTEGRA PLATE. The filter is comprised primarily of two round, vertical filter elements located on both the left and right sides of the filter frame.
Eaton's BECO INTEGRA LAB 220 S filter system works on the principle of filtration with depth filtration sheets. Depending upon the application, undesirable suspended solids, sediments or microorganisms are removed from the liquid/suspension via filtration. For this purpose the liquid is fed into a cake frame. The pressure difference between the in-and outflow causes the liquid to flow through the depth filter sheet. As a result, depending upon application, it emerges either clarified or sterilized. The filtrate then flows out through the outflow, collects in the drainage grooves and is conducted to the filtrate outlet.
An O-ring located behind the sheet frame reliably prevents any emissions from the product being filtered from reaching the surrounding environment, even in difficult filtration applications. Using two different depth filter sheets allows, e.g. coarse and fine filtration, diatomaceous earth and fine filtration or pre- and sterile filtration in one filtration step.
